Bull's Background

Well, first off, if you ask his name, he'll say it's "Bull." But if you ask what he's called, he'll say, "Bill." Bull was born William Barnes, Jr. waaaay back in 1966, in West Bend, IN. His mother and father divorced when he was young, and his mother made it to Nashville, pursuing a career somewhere in the entertainment industry. She ended up being a manager of a local restaurant. Bill grew up in this environment, and soon learned a put-on accent (like many), purposefully developing his to match The Duke. Bill dropped out of school in his senior year, and learned to drive the big rigs. Did it for 12 years.

Then he began having strange visions, especially around the cattle pastures - he'd swear he'd hear the cows talking to him. One time, when he pulled into a Kentucky Fried, the Colenol himself spoke - in the words of a competitor! - "Eat More Chikin'." Bill was getting freaked out. He began drinking much, much more, listening to Johnny Cash, losing his job, and eventually running into old Abe - an Owl Pooka, who recovered Bill and introduced him to Changeling society.

Through a harrowing journey into the Dreaming, to a Pooka Burrow no less, Bull learned the extent of his Geas, and the long fight against cow manipulation and exploitation in the Autumn World. Bull knew he never liked steak.

Upon his return, Bull teamed up with some protest groups (to learn their ways), and now practices sometime animal terrorism, letting the bulls loose, destroying milking equipment, etc.

But mostly, he travels the country, spreading the word - Eat Mor' Chikin. Now, you may wonder why he feels one should trade beef for poultry. In his words: "Well, the cow is a high and sacred animal. Just ask the followers of one of the oldest continuously practiced religions in the world, Hinduism!" (He'll continue on all day if you let him.) Honestly, others in the pooka community feel there must have been a bitter rivalry between two animal burrows, and one of them sent this guy to the Autumn World...

Bull managed to find a Nocker kinain, Ed, when broken down one time in the Atlanta area, and the two have become friends. Ed looks askance at Bull's quest, but is fascinated by the contraptions Bull asks for sometimes, and for Bull's part, he loves the fun of using Ed's stuff.

Even with his Geas, Bull (as a Grump), is absolutely fascinated by the Dreaming, and would spend all his time there if possible. He spends most of his available study time on things related to the Dreaming, having learned some Dream Lore, Dream-Craft, and (so far) only learning the Fae Realm. One day, Bull hopes to live in the Dreaming, and direct his Eat Mor Chikin' schemes from an Anchor somewhere...

Bull has been seen slumming around the Atlanta area of late - some fool made the mistake of roping him into being a representative of a commoner freehold (Bob's Old Bar) to the Parliament of Dreams. Bull also recently taught the trolls at a Dahlonega baron's house how to rut properly, much to the baron's boggan seneschal's digust. And if you happen to see one of the cows on a billboard wave to you some late night, you just might have seen Bull in action.
